The Digital Archives has recently updated the discussion forum and the log in system. Here you will find help for the upgraded forum and the new log in. The guides are under construction, so more elaborated texts with images will be available shortly.
You find the discussion forum at this address: http://forum.arkivverket.no
You find the login in site for the Digital Archives at this address: https://login.digitalarkivet.no/en/login
If you already have an account, you can log in to the debate forums by clicking the link "log in" in the top right corner. If you do not have an account, please scroll down to how you create an account. If you have forgotten your password, scroll down to how to retrieve a new password.
The log in-window will present you with to options to log in: a) solely in the debate forum or b) via Digitalarkivet (the Digital Archives). If you choose a) you will only have an account in the debate forum and will not be logged in on the site of the Digital Archives. (But you can change this preference later.) If you choose b) which we recommend, you are creating an account you can also use on the site of the Digital Archives. You will only have one account for both the forum and the site.
If you have forgotten the password you have created for your account, you can retrieve a new one easily. It is the same procedure whether you are in the discussion forum or on the Digital Archives site, but it will look slightly different.
In the discussion forum you find the "Forgot password?"-link in the window which opens once you click the Log in-link in the top right corner. Follow the instructions and be careful to write the e-mail address you have registered in the discussion forum. You will recieve an e-mail to comlete the retrieval, so be sure to have your inbox available.
You can read and follow the discussions without an account, but if you want to post an entry, start a topic, send a message to the other members, you will have to have an account. You start an account by clicking the "Become a member" in the top right corner.
You can search and browse the site of the Digital Archives freely, without any registration. But if you want to make pdf's of the scanned material or send messages for possible errors in the transcribed material, you will have to have an account.
