The tale describes Cellachan's battles with the Norsemen in Munster, in Dublin and in Ulster. It gives many details as to the history of the Viking-settlements in Ireland. We hear about the Vikings of Limerick, of Cork, and of southern Munster, and get a most interesting description of a naval fight between the Irish and the norsemen in the bay of Dundalk.
